Whoops, I kept writing until 2am
Uhhhhh anyway here's that Fast Car ficlet I promised @casscainsbiceps
Logan shouldn’t be driving. Sure, he could drink any human and a lot of mutants under the table, but tonight was intense even for him.
He’d managed to buy a used car a few weeks earlier, and since then he’d mostly taken it to a bar that was far enough outside the city that Wade wasn’t likely to find him there. He’d told himself that he was weaning off the bottle, slowly decreasing his alcohol intake until he could function without it. It was a lie, of course; any fool could see that. Didn’t stop him from trying, though.
Then she walked in and ruined everything.
He didn’t know her, and she didn’t know him. But her flowing red hair had tricked him, stopped his heart right in his chest and turned his blood to ice.
“Jean?” he’d said. She didn’t respond. That alone should have told him to drop it, but instead, like a complete idiot, he’d reached out and grabbed her arm.
“Jean?” he repeated. “Jean, is that y—”
She whipped around, startled and confused and definitely not Jean Grey.
“Sorry,” he mumbled. “Thought you were someone else.”
Not-Jean yanked her arm away with a look of disgust. Logan turned back to the counter, finished his beer, then flagged down the bartender and ordered three fingers of whiskey. Everything between the moment the glass touched his lips and the moment he jammed his keys into the ignition was a blur.
The road had very few street lights; the moon offered little in the way of visibility. Logan was vaguely aware that he was drifting, but didn’t clock that his foot was pressing down on the gas harder than he meant to. That realization came when he went straight through a bend in the road and rammed into a tree at almost a hundred miles per hour.
He sat there, unmoving, waiting for his brain to catch up and his heart to slow down. With shaking hands he put the car in reverse and tried to back out, but to no avail. He hadn’t even owned the thing for a full month before destroying it. He ripped out the steering wheel and flung it through the shattered windshield.
God. Fucking. Damnit.
He should call one of those not-quite-taxi cars—Uberlift, or whatever they were called. He always had trouble remembering the names of things in this universe. But first, he should definitely call a tow truck.
A dull throbbing pain was building up behind his eyes as he pulled a piece of glass out of his forehead. Maybe he should just get Wade to pick him up instead.
No. Fuck no. Absolutely not. He might be the Worst Wolverine, but he still had a shred of pride. He’d go on foot once he could walk in a straight line. In the meanwhile, he would just sit in the wreckage of his car and listen to the radio while he sobered up. Assuming it still worked—which, miraculously, it did.
He must’ve hit the dashboard when he crashed, because the radio wasn’t set to his usual station. Instead of the pounding drums and harsh metal vocals he was used to, he was greeted by something else entirely.
“You got a fast car,” came a soft voice, “I want a ticket to anywhere.”
He reached for the radio dial, then paused. The warm bass notes melted like honey over the drums, gently flowing through the vocals and lead guitar. This wasn’t so bad. He sat back and closed his eyes. The singer continued on, telling a story about joining up with someone to escape a life she didn’t want—small, poor, static. He’d heard this story plenty of times before, but something about this version was different. It was captivating in a strange, solemn way.
He was actually starting to enjoy this.
Then the fourth stanza began.
“You see my old man’s got a problem. He lives with the bottle, that’s the way it is.”
Logan’s stomach twisted. This was not the kind of story he wanted to hear.
“He says his body’s too old for working. His body’s too young to look like his.”
How many more decades would it take for Logan’s body to look his age? He’d lived two hundred years, but he still looked fifty. Nothing about him had changed. Not his body, not his habits, not his self loathing.
“My mama went off and left him
She wanted more from life than he could give
I said, somebody's got to take care of him
So I quit school and that's what I did.”
Images of the woman from the bar flashed in his mind, but this time she had Jean’s face. What would the real Jean think, seeing him like that? He’d always been a drunk, but at least before he’d been a person. The only thing sitting in this car was an empty husk that reeked of booze.
“You got a fast car. Is it fast enough so we can fly away?” the singer asked. “We gotta make a decision: leave tonight or live and die this way.”
How many times had his family tried to tell him the same thing—and how many times had he ignored them until they gave up? It wasn’t just the reprimanding he’d hated; it was the genuine concern, the pity, that got under his skin. He hated being pitied more than anything else. At least, that’s what he had thought.
Suddenly the drums kicked up, drowning out his thoughts.
“So I remember we were driving, driving in your car
Speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I-I, had a feeling that I belonged
I-I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone…”
God, it was so hopeful it hurt. Logan couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt that kind of freedom. Maybe he never had. There was something else in the singer’s voice, something he couldn’t quite identify. It floated in the space between longing and giving up. It made his chest feel tight.
“I know things will get better
You'll find work and I'll get promoted
We'll move out of the shelter
Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs.”
“Life ain’t like that, sweetheart,” he sneered. “It’s just one disappointment after the next.” Yet somehow, in spite of himself, he actually did feel some hope for the narrator. Her life didn’t have to go to shit the way his did. Maybe she still had a chance.
The chorus came back, but something about it felt different, even though it was the exact same as before. Like the narrator’s dreams were being tempered—or tamped down—by reality. His eyes began to burn.
“You got a fast car
I got a job that pays all our bills
You stay out drinking late at the bar
See more of your friends than you do of your kids.”
Resignation. That was the feeling. Tears began to slip out, one by one, leaving wet tracks down his face. If this girl couldn’t make it, what chance did he have?
“I'd always hoped for better
Thought maybe together you and me would find it
I got no plans, I ain't going nowhere
So take your fast car and keep on driving.”
It was too much. He couldn’t breathe. Guilt was crushing his rib cage and flattening his lungs. After several excruciating seconds he managed to suck in a breath, only for it to come out as a gasping, heaving sob. Decades of grief poured out from him, burning his throat and eyes and skin.
That was it. The dam had broken. Sobs turned into wails; wails faded into whimpers.
The chorus returned again, but now the sweet naivete of youth had turned as bitter as whiskey. There were no happy times to look forward to. The narrator had tried to take a different path, but it led her right back to the same dead end. As for Logan, all he’d found was that the bottom of a bottle tasted the same in this universe as it did in his own.
He leaned forward and rested his head on the dashboard. It took a few deep breaths, but he managed to calm down just enough to hear the final lines of the song.
“You got a fast car. Is it fast enough so you can fly away?”
Please, God, make it stop.
“You gotta make a decision: leave tonight or live and die this way.”
And just like that, it was over.
Logan barely had time to process anything before the radio let out a horrendously loud record scratch, reminding all listeners that they were tuning into a station that made its money from advertisements. He skewered the radio with his claws before the DJ could get a word out.
It had been a long time since anything had torn him apart like that. He was an open wound; bleeding and vulnerable. Wasn’t alcohol supposed to help wounds?
“Not these ones,” he muttered. “Gotta let ‘em dry out.”
He was so tired. Tired of drinking. Tired of crying. Tired of hating himself. He just wanted to fall asleep and wake up as a completely different person, unburdened by his past. Barring that, he wanted to go lie down somewhere that wasn’t the wreckage of a junky old car.
Without any conscious thought, Logan’s hand pulled his phone out of his pocket and began dialing Wade’s number. His mouth, now fully disconnected from his brain, started fumbling through the lyrics of that song. Be someone, be someone, be someone…
He’d have to look it up and listen to it again.
This time he’d hear it sober.

Hello yes hi. Big fan. Very big fan! Ur art, story, and that bad-freaking-ass spiderman design has me on a choke hold. Just a question bc I'm curious and a fanatic, what's Deadpools and Peter's relationship like here? Are they just lookin for a fun time or Something deeper? I gotta know man. I'll take all scraps I can get
Thank you so much! Here are some scraps I have fashioned into something edible (hopefully).
(Tfw u hug ur friend and pull back covered in his blood)
Wade doesn't have casual friends. In fact most people tend to leave, and the ones that stick around tend to like him in small doses.
Peter is weird. He's friendly, puts up with Wade's antics and is (for some reason) really patient with his bullshit. He lets Wade chatter and actually listens, they watch tiktoks together and Peter opens all his memes (not to mention actually replies to his texts!!)
Peter is also really tactile. Wade has had more casual physical contact (arm around the shoulders/neck grasping/etc) in the past few months than he's had in forever.
Peter also cares. Wade hasn't had anyone who's really cared in a long-ass time.
TLDR: Wade is so fucking far gone on him it's not even funny. He's also terrified of messing it up because if it goes south, it's not just a date he's gonna lose out on, it's the entire friendship. So he's been basically pining behind his usual 'I'm-going-to-make-crude-sexual-come-ons' routine and hopes Peter doesn't realize it's not for show.
He's also struggling with some very horny feelings for Spiderman but that's a whole other bag of marbles.
Don'tmessthisupdon'tmessthisupdon'tmessthis- "Hey, your tits look fantastic today" Fuck. Peter: "Thanks! Scarlett told me to get smaller shirts."
----
Peter, on the other hand, is kind of reluctant to have romantic relationships because his Spider side and human side tend to blend together in ways that most people can't handle.
Because what does a regular person do when their boyfriend's venn diagram of 'hunt/eat/mate' is a circle? Peter always has to hold himself back, has to watch his strength, has to curb his knee-jerk reactions to violence...it's exhausting. And it's gotten the people he loves hurt.
So he's interested, but contents himself with platonic interactions because he thinks he doesn’t deserve anything more.
He also doesn't want to ruin the friendship, because he actually, genuinely likes Wade.)
Now when he's in the suit...well...impulses tend to go out the window...
------
Thank you so much for the asks! I hope this was satisfying!! <3 <3 <3
#spiderman#hunting!spider#peter parker#deadpool#headcanon that coming back from the dead is almost like a subdrop#Peter and Marko used to have this super healthy (minus the criminal parts) bromance so that's what he's doing with Deadpool#ask#also peter spent years in prison in close quarters with criminals. weird psycho behavior is normal for him

Thinking about the reaction another universe's Logan would have to meeting Wade. To Wade and Logan's relationship.
Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
---
Imagine a Logan who didn't lose the X-men, who still has his "family," but who still has his walls sky high. Who is still an alcoholic (albeit less chronically than our Logan) and still keeps everyone at a distance despite craving company like a moth to a flame. Who purposely isolates himself, denying it under the guise of indifference, out of fear of rejection. Who tries to protect himself by building a fortress around himself only to result in nobody being able to scale those impenetrable walls.
Who has people around him (Jean, Scott, Charles) but still feels alone in the world. Who is physically present (showing up at dinnertime, attending meetings, occasionally completing missions alongside them) but emotionally absent. Who tries so hard to try to be there, to be emotionally open, to give back what he's received, but fails spectacularly.
And everyone else notices. But they don't say anything, afraid of breaking the careful balance that keeps Logan just close enough to touch but just far enough that their fingers only manage to graze him. And so they keep up this balancing act, getting used to the tenseness and slightly uncomfortable silences.
They resign themselves to it eventually. To only being able to climb halfway and receive messages through a window.
And Logan resigns himself to this loneliness too. In 200 years, nobody has managed to break through. Why would they be able to now?
Imagine this Logan meeting the current Wade.
Wade was sent on some kind of mission by the TVA to investigate a disturbance in the timeline of this universe. His Logan offered to join him, but he turned him down. He felt uneasy bringing Logan to a universe where his team was still alive, where everything was eerily similar to his original universe except for their fate. He didn't want Logan to have to go through the pain of seeing the life he "could've" had if he hadn't been the "Worst Wolverine." (And, on a deeper level, he felt scared that Logan would realize that he was never enough to fill that void.)
And so he left a very reluctant Logan behind to delve into this alternate universe.
He stumbled out of the portal into some inconspicuous alleyway, brushing the grime off his suit. Lo and behold, he's in a big bustling city that looks almost identical to his own.
It doesn't take him long to begin investigating, searching for what could've caused the disruption in the timeline. He'd planned for this to be a quick mission, a one-and-done, clean-cut resolution so that he could get home in time to eat whatever scraps Logan had somehow managed to assemble into a decent-looking meal.
He was looking forward to eating dinner with Logan and Blind Al. To pressing his leg against Logan's a bit too closely to be platonic—but not yet explicitly romantic—and feeding Mary Puppins under the table to Logan's protest.
And yet, after hours of searching for clues and interrogating mercenaries and shady guys who knew about underground operations, he was stumped.
And so, naturally, when the bad guys didn't have the information he wanted, he turned to the good guys.
Unfortunately, the Avengers weren't particularly active (at least publicly) at the moment, and so he turned to the very group he'd been hoping to avoid: the X-men.
Maybe breaking into their mansion through a window on a random Tuesday wasn't the best way to make an impression, but it got the job done.
However, the X-men seemed to disagree on that front, considering how the few that had been inside (barely any he recognized) were all tensing up and drawing their weapons.
"Woah woah woah," Wade put his hands up in the air placatingly, "Slow your roll. I'm not here to cause trouble for you guys. I know it looks bad but I promise I'm here for very important, very legit, very legal, reasons."
"...Reasons that require you to break and enter?" some random X-man Wade didn't care about asked.
"Yes, exactly!" Wade chirped. "I'm sure we're all very busy and I want to go home just as much as you all want to redecorate whatever the fuck this mansion aesthetic is."
"What's wrong with the aesthetic?" Colossus (finally, someone he recognized!) asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Don't worry about it, pal," Wade quickly deflected, "Anyway, straight to the point: do any of you guys know what the hell could be fucking up your timeline? Because, unfortunately, none of the assholes on the streets seem to know. And, even more unfortunately, I have to fix that."
"...What do you mean fucking up the timeline?" Jean asked, slowly.
"Well, it's a long story—"
—one that ended up with Wade sitting in the big bad office across from Charles Xavier, who took an obnoxiously sophisticated sip of his tea.
"So you're from another dimension," he starts with.
"Yup, born and raised, baby."
"...And you're here because you believe there's something wrong with this timeline?"
"You know it. Although I don't see why we're going through the whole questioning shebang when you can just read my mind and get it over with," Wade leans back in the chair, his tone flippant.
"Well—"
Before Charles can finish speaking, the doors loudly slam open to reveal a very real and very angry Wolverine.
"Where is the fucker who broke in?" he growls, claws unsheathed.
"Right here, buddy," Wade grins and waves.
"Why is he still here and not locked up?" Other-Logan's fiery eyes flick toward Charles.
"Because—"
"—Because I'm here to save your ass, Wolvie. I wasn't the one who messed up your universe and I sure as hell wasn't the one who pissed in your cereal this morning, considering I, y'know, wasn't here."
Wolverine looks slightly taken aback at the audacity of Wade taunting him after breaking and entering.
"Now, not that I don't enjoy some eye candy—I really do, trust me—but can we finish this shit up so I can get back to my universe?" Wade eyed the tense, battle-braced posture Other-Logan was sporting, "And holy shit, peanut, we can try out pain play later but let's save the kinks for the bedroom, yeah? Put those claws away for now."
Wolverine looks like he's about to choke him or choke himself with the way he's clenching his fists in... anger? incredulity? Something to that effect.
And so began their very real, very legit, very spectacular journey to save the timeline! Unfortunately, the other X-men apparently had better shit to do (lazy fuckers), and so while they were out on their own pre-determined missions, Wolverine and Deadpool had to work together. Again. (Well, "again" for one of them.)
And it was going... okay. Surprisingly. They'd managed to locate a few places with suspicious activity using the X-men's network and while Wade would probably have to wait on that homemade dinner, the mission wasn't a total disaster so far (which was better than he could say for last time).
Except, there were a few... slip-ups.
It started when The Wolverine (because he wasn't His Logan, not to Wade) and Deadpool (because he wasn't His Wade either) were out raiding some base that had suspicious activity around when the timeline started having issues. They hadn't uncovered anything substantial so far, but there was definitely something shady going on. Call it a Spidey Sense.
Wolverine was slaughtering some enemies after threatening them within an inch of their life to spill their secrets, as usual, when one henchman (a mutant of some type, judging by the inhuman speed at which he moved) attacked him from behind. Wade didn't even have time to think, all he saw was Logan getting attacked and in an instant, he'd crossed the distance and embedded a katana in the fucker's head.
He knew Logan would heal. He did. But it didn't make it easier to look at him, bloodied and bruised, and not want to murder the person who caused it. It reminded him too much of the way Wade found Logan—reckless and suicidal, resigned to drinking himself to death and not caring how hurt he was.
(And, more than that, he just hated to see him in pain. He liked to think it was reciprocal, by the way Logan would slice someone into fucked up organ confetti the second they managed to land a good hit on Wade. He was always a bit more wound up on those nights, a barely tampered rage in his eyes and snarl to his lips that didn't subside until they were back in the apartment, out of their suits, where wounds stitched themselves up. Logan still had a shakiness to him, sometimes, until the injuries were fully gone. He'd thumb at a slash on his arm until the skin was back to the typical scar tissue instead of a distinct cut.)
Wolverine looked back to see Deadpool on top of the mangled corpse.
"Just doing my job," Deadpool said cheerily, trying not to let his voice waver.
"...Sure, bub," Wolverine muttered, eyeing him a second longer before going back to whoever he was torturing.
Fuck.
And then it happened again.
They were taking a breather in the facility they'd just raided, sitting down to catch their breaths and compile their findings before setting off to the next one.
Wolverine was digging through some medkits nearby, despite being healed.
"Woah buddy," Deadpool started, "Don't you think it's a bit early to be getting drunk? I mean, I'm all for freedom of choice, but I don't think the Founding Fathers thought that choice would mean drinking straight rubbing alcohol."
Wolverine stopped, his muscles stiffening.
"...What makes you think I'm looking for rubbing alcohol?" he asked slowly, a tenseness to his voice that was separate from the normal level of annoyance.
Wade quickly realized his mistake. "Oh, y'know, a hunch. I have a sixth sense. Like Spiderman. But cooler! Like instead of a Spidey Sense I have a... uhhh... Deadpool Danger Detonator?"
Wolverine looked at him suspiciously as he continued to ramble, but eventually let it go. Thank god.
And again.
They were fighting some higher-level henchmen, for once. Seems that their trail was finally leading somewhere. These guys were fewer in numbers, but actually packed some bang for their buck and all seemed to have decently strong mutations and some weapons training.
Now, Logan and Wade frequently went on missions together. In fact, at this point, they almost exclusively did jobs together. (It was part of the reason it'd been so difficult to convince Logan to let this job go. It had become routine at this point to go together, to be a Package Deal, Two Parts of a Set, Partners.)
(He'd noticed how Logan would pace anxiously when he went on more dangerous missions by himself. How he'd try and fail to distract himself and inevitably end up on the couch, tense and waiting for Wade to come home before finally, finally, letting out a deep breath and letting his muscles unwind as Wade flopped down next to him. He knew and yet he just... couldn't... this time.)
Suffice to say, Wade knew Logan's attack patterns. He knew where he'd strike and the openings he'd leave and how to cover them. He'd fought him enough himself to tell when he'd use a feint and when he'd actually go for the kill.
And so, when they were pushed back to back, surrounded on all sides, Wade let himself fall into the natural rhythm of it all. Weaving in and out between Wolverine's attacks, throwing knives where he'd miss with his claws, covering his back, and doing a masterful job at eliminating the enemies.
And Wolverine noticed. Because of course he did. He'd glanced at Wade with something akin to surprise (or even recognition) a few times when he'd managed to match him precisely.
But it felt oddly... good to be matched. Wolverine was used to working alone, to having backup but never really working alongside someone else. He fought on the same team as the X-men, yes, and they did sometimes go on joint missions together, but he never felt equal to them. Like he could throw a punch and they'd match him exactly.
He was used to leading the group, to being on the front lines of the attack, to splitting off and doing his own thing. He'd never felt this type of ease when working with someone. Like he didn't have to glance over his shoulder to check their work or see if they'd been hurt.
And so, as they fell into a comfortable rhythm, Logan found himself smiling. A feral, gleeful thing.
At the joy of finally having a match. The animalistic thrill of getting to play with his prey together without the other person shying away or shutting him down.
Logan always had to toe the line between human and animal. Giving in just enough to his animal instincts to make him a useful tool, a sharp weapon, while still retaining his humanity enough to be palatable. He could never just let go and be both. Let the line disappear in the sand as he dipped his toes in and out of the tides without feeling like someone was yanking him back or further in.
For the first time in his 200 years of existence, Logan felt free.
(When he finally came down from the adrenaline high, he looked at Wade with an indescribable expression. If Wade didn't know better, he'd almost say it looked like awe.)
And again.
They were bickering over something stupid. It doesn't matter how it started, only that now they both were bristling with annoyance and had their pride on the line.
"Can you shut the fuck up?" Wolverine growled, clenching his hands tightly.
"Or what? Is the kitty gonna unsheathe his claws?" Deadpool goaded, "Are you going to shish-kebab me? Stab me?"
"And if I do?" A challenging spark entered Logan's eyes.
"Been there, done that, honey badger. You'll have to get realllllll creative to top the Honda Odyssey," Wade smirked.
"What the hell does a car have to do with me murdering you?"
Deadpool blinked. Once. Twice. "Oh yeah, you wouldn't know that reference. Bummer. The point is, you aren't going to get anything out of impaling me. Except for the rise of a different type of weapon. If you get what I mean."
Wolverine gruffly retorted with some petty insult, but the searching look in his eyes didn't fade.
And again.
"C'mon Wolvie, you know I like it when you penetrate me, but let's try something new for a change, yeah? How about you hold me tenderly instead—" (Wolverine had never impaled him once.)
And again.
"Or what? What are you gonna say? 'Hey bub, I'm Wolverine, I'm The X-man and I'm masculine and I like woodworking and being a lumberjack in the forests of Canada.'" (Wolverine had never revealed that. To anyone, actually.)
And again.
"You know, maybe instead of drinking anything available, you can wait and I'll buy you some of the good stuff. I'll get you some beer and whisky on the house as long as you brave the very hard journey of staying sober for more than ten fucking minutes." (Wolverine had never told him his taste in alcohol.)
Until, finally—
"You know me."
"What?"
"You know me." It was a statement, not a question. Wolverine was looking at him with that same look in his eyes. The one he'd had since their first fight together where Deadpool had freaked the fuck out over someone nearly stabbing him.
"I sure hope I do, considering we've been working together for two days now," Deadpool chuckled, averting his eyes.
"No. You know me. You know me." Logan had a type of vulnerability in his eyes, one that he hadn't seen since he'd left his Logan behind.
"...What do you mean?" Wade asked, reluctantly.
"You know things about me that you shouldn't. But you couldn't have gotten it from anyone because nobody else knows them either. You know how I fight. What my habits are. What I like. What I hate. Therefore, you know me," he said, and that might be the most words Wade has ever heard this Logan speak at one time.
And Wade wants to deny it, if just to hurry along this mission and avoid the emotional turmoil of confronting his feelings with a Logan that isn't even his. But he sees the earnest look in Logan's eyes and he can't just ignore it. Can't deflect like he would for anyone else.
"...You're right, I do know you."
"How?" Logan's eyes are piercing, searching for answers. Desperately, almost. Like a man stranded in the desert, insatiably thirsty, who just learned that there's an oasis.
So Wade tells him. A short version, anyway. Tells him about snatching his Logan from another universe, getting thrown into the void, and then working together to save his world. Tells him about asking Logan to stay, and how they've been living together since. How they go on missions together and make dinner together and watch shitty reality TV together with Blind Al and their dog.
(Doesn't tell him how he refused to let his Logan come along, that he wanted to, that he'd do anything to keep his Logan with him even if it hurts to be away.)
Finally, the inevitable question comes up: "Why did Logan abandon his universe?"
And Wade tells him that too.
And Logan... doesn't know how to feel.
A part of him feels horrified. That there's a universe out there where he failed the X-men so horrendously. Where he drank himself into a stupor and stumbled back in to find them dead. Where he lived his entire life denying that he cares and building up his walls only for him to crumble anyway when they're gone (only for him to have nothing to reminisce on because of it).
But a larger part of him (a shameful, bitter part of him) feels envy curling around his chest, squeezing his heart and constricting his throat until he's barely able to breathe.
Because of course, it'd take losing everything that mattered to him right now to be able to find what he's been missing this whole time. He couldn't just be happy with the X-men, he had to be selfish and want more despite all they've done for him.
A greedy, wretched part of him thinks it'd be worth it. To throw it all away just so that he could have someone like Wade who talks about him not as a colleague, not as a teammate, but with a fondness so evident he could choke on it. Someone who knows Logan, not The Wolverine. Who cares about the little details like how he furrows his brow and what his favorite drink is and the exact pitch his voice takes when he genuinely laughs instead of just how quick he can kill enemies.
Someone who knows him as Logan—a selfish, possessive, scared, pathetic, insecure, asshole—and still wants him. Still loves him.
He's always had to hide parts of himself. Always had to don a mask of stoicism, careful indifference, and harsh words. Because then, people would hate him for that. They would push him away because he was rude, he was callous, he was brutal, but they wouldn't look deeper.
Because if Logan bared himself to someone as he is, vulnerable and terrified of losing those he loves, and they rejected him?
It'd be a worse fate than death.
But here Wade was, talking about him—as a person, not a hero—and smiling so visibly Logan can tell behind the mask, speaking of him warmly even when remembering how they used to fight.
Logan feels something unfamiliar in his gut. A concoction of jealousy, hatred, and... relief. Happiness. Possessiveness, even.
That he could be seen and loved despite it.
Logan knows what love feels like. Knows how it feels to care about people, despite how he acts. He knows how to feel protective and worried.
He's felt attraction before. To Jean, who had soft skin and a pretty smile and who always showed courage in the face of danger. To Scott, even, who commanded with a strength in his voice that sometimes had heat running through Logan's veins.
This is different.
This isn't just love. Isn't just attraction. It's yearning—awful, honest, raw yearning for something he desperately wanted but knew he couldn't have. Knew he shouldn't have.
But he wanted it. He'd felt empty for so long, even surrounded by people, even with people he cares about and who he knows reciprocate. He's been trapped in limbo for so long: never alone but always lonely, given enough scraps to stay in one place and fear loss while still feeling an itch under his skin for something more.
To be understood. To be seen. To be loved. To belong to someone instead of being a stray, wandering from door to door and taking whatever handouts he can while sleeping in their shitty garage.
Logan is an animal at heart, really. The Wolverine had always been inside him, influencing his feelings and emotions in a way normal humans couldn't quite relate to or understand.
And like all animals, the thing he wants the most is a home. A place to belong.
He stares at Wade as he continues rambling about the Logan from his world, talking with an energy he'd never had before.

Logan angst of the X-Men variety.
I need Logan remembering how he was treated at the mansion by the people he fucked and those he didn't. I want him to realize he wasn't treated how he deserved how he was used and thrown away by many.
And it's so much worse learning it through and because of Wade. Because of anyone should treat him badly or be an asshole to him It would be Deadpool, but no Wade is so kind and sweet and it just hurts.
Wade telling him how good he is and how much he loves Logan and Logan gets to realize no one has so that to him in so very long. Logan reflects on past relationships romantic and platonic and realizes it wasn't ok.
It hurts him in ways he could have never expected because he thought it had been good. He thought that was how it was supposed to be. I mean He's never had an actual meaningful relationship in his life. His brother was...well insane. He never really had friends.
He'd been taking advantage of so many times that he thought he'd figured it out by now. However the realization that no he just got caught again in a different still abusive situation hurt. It wasn't the same it wasn't as bad but it still wasn't good.
All the while Wade had kept telling him it wasn't what he deserved. Wade was so kind that he couldn't take it for a while but eventually he wore down and accepted it.
He had never been happier

"Deadpool and Wolverine": queercoding analysis of Poolverine in the movie
// SPOILERS
//Disclaimer: This is NOT a hate post to Vanessa/Wade shipp, but if you ship them, this post is probably not for you.
I've seen a few queerbaiting allegations and, frankly, don't agree with them. Now I'll explain why.
Starting with the fact that movie begins as a typical reasoning for a character to get a new love interest: we find out Wade and Vanessa broke up after roughly 7-8 years together.
Either we don't know (or I just don't remember lol) for how long they've been separate, but it was enough time for Vanessa to get in a new relationship.
And we know that the reason for this breakup is the core differences between the two. In the previous movie they wanted to get a child and Wade's entire motivation was based around Vanessa. In this movie tho, it seems like even if Wade is still not completely over breakup, he seems to be compliant with the fact they are not together anymore. You would expect Wade to go and do something silly to Nessa's new guy, but he doesn't. He respects her decidion.
Wade has more of an existentioal crisis than just hurting from the breakup. So I would assume he's not over because he feels like he messed up and keeps giving sad puppy eyes holding on this romantic relationship with Vanessa. Tho they are still soulmates and friends no matter what.
I don't know about you, but for me this exposition doesn't look like a foreshadowing of Vanessa and Wade getting back together. Vanessa is happy and self-actualised on her own, even if Wade is not.
I don't see Wade trying to change as an act of trying to get back with Vanessa. He reacts like this because his family member pointed out his flaws.
Secondly, the only other "hints" for a relationship between Wade and Vanessa is him remembering how they kissed and in the end Vanessa holding Wade's hand. Which, let me point out, is not a typical trope to show characters are back together. You know what's typical? A KISS! Which never happened btw.
Not to be this person, but we all know Disney/Marvel haven't got the balls to show a canon queer relationship. So the only "hints" for Vanessa/Wade seem to either read as platonic, or purely as an attempt of Disney to be like !look! female love interest!.
Now, other important part. If you really think about it, referencing the first part of the post, the movie follows an enemies-to lovers romantic movie formula:
(optional) breakup with previous partner;
annoyance first (previous deadpool movies);
admiration upon actual meeting (even if Wade acts cocky, when you listen to him telling the story about how his universe's Logan saved Laura, you can clearly see he adores the hero, who, as we know, is relatively similar throughout multiverse. Wade knows this Logan has the same morals as other ones, hearing how he regrets not being able to help his x-men);
"having to" go on an adventure/quest together even tho they are annoyed at each other;
enemies bickering and fighting because they have differences (which are actually similarities between the two which drive them insane when they see this mirroring);
the breaking point and confrontation (the Logan monologue in the car scene);
*the close proximity tention* hate fucking as a spicy way to get over the argument (in the car scene they are shown to fight just for the sake of letting out steam);
the cold period when characters ignore each other because they are still pissed (when Laura got the two to her base);
getting over it and working together, trusting that the other got their back;
saving the world with the power of love brotherhood with romantic soundtrack on;
both staying alive and having a heart-to-heart conversation;
one wants to leave, but the other stops them (usually it would be followed up with a kiss but oh well);
officially meeting a parental figure of one of the characters and moving in together as in an established relationship.
I don't think I'm delusional if I say I haven't seen brotherhood media (ones without queerbaiting or actual siblings) that would follow this formula. But I did see romantic storylines.
All in all, Wade and Logan go through a development and establishment of a relationship. And I'm not even talking about the obvious "one being there when other lost everything and giving them a new family and home".
In the movie there are so many romantic tropes of these CANONICALLY QUEER CHARACTERS, which make it safe to assume that queercoding is in fact happening. I would argue about it if both of them were straight in the source material, but this is the best and most important part, they are not :)
And this is why "Deadpool & Wolverine" is actually a romcom. Thank you for reading!

I really love the change away from "the hero is fighting to save his one true love (romantic love interest)" to "the hero is fighting to save their one true love (family, friends, platonic loves plus a romantic person within that group, maybe, but the focus is on all of them; they love all of them)" in popular media.
I grew up being force fed straight romantic relationships as the only way to have a happy ending (in more ways than one, oioi), but it never felt like something I wanted. My identity with the hero ended at him kicking arse and being cool.
I wanted a pack. I wanted to care about and love loads of people. I couldn't picture anything lonelier than being stuck with one person in your life, and that's it. Because that's apparently what romance meant; co-dependence, loneliness and eventual bitter divorce.
I dunno. Just seeing Wade shove a picture of his family - his best mates, his room mate, the woman he is separated from but still loves hey it's messy - in Wolverine's face rather than just a crinkled pic of his bird... that made me feel all kinda ways. I feel like it reflects the average life of someone my age better than anything I saw in the 90s and early 00s.
#deadpool and wolverine#deadpool#wolverine#because it really could have been her#the writers could have turned it into a fight to prove himself to her#but they made it into a fight to save all of them#all those who stood by his side even when he was a loserk#or a dickhead#they chose to make all those side characters important to Wade#rather than window-dressing for his romance arc

You Are My Squishies! Pt. 2
Part two of my two shot based on my imagine:
((part one right here))
It was no secret that Wade had his fair share of bad luck; from getting cancer, to turning into a tumor, scar ridden, unkillable raisin, briefly losing the love of his life, to the shit show that was X Force 1.0, among other things he didn't care to recall at the moment.
Yes, the universe often gave him the shaft but in other ways, Wade was also blessed.
Sure he and Vanessa were taking "a break", he was rejected by the Avengers, and he didn't exactly know where his life was going at the moment but he was blessed!
How so? He had family.
People who cared about him despite his flaws (oh boy there were many) and wanted the best for him including... you.
You were a fairly new addition to Wade's eclectic mix but man were you a welcome one. Ever since you came knocking on his door with "hi neighbour" enchiladas, you guys just clicked.
You were a very personality driven person and always looked for the best in someone. You also got used to his face almost scarily fast, complimented and playfully flirted with him even.
Yes, you were significantly more chill and mature than he was, but you knew how to laugh and even dole out some of your own quips.
Even when his mind was doing mental gymnastics at the speed of a ping pong match, you knew how to balance him out and ground him, not to mention your endearing as hell nurturing streak.
You'd always come over every other day with a home cooked meal, left notes of encouragement or something nice on his door, fussed over him if he wasn't taking care of himself emotionally and physically and when Vanessa wanted to take a "break", you were there with him, letting him vent, distracting him, platonically snuggling while he cried, just whatever he needed in the moment.
Eventually you even earned your own set of keys to his apartment and the smile you had on your face when he gave you them rivaled the fucking sun and your lovely antics increased tenfold.
All of it not even counting the best part, you were aromantic.
At first he mourned the fantasy of romancing you and becoming a throuple (he was poly, you were immaculate, and Vanessa was open and knew, screw the haters) but it was a part of you he quickly learned to love.
It was freeing, to not have to worry about romantic implications and just be with someone (it didn't make you any less sexy though).
Yes, you were his Bestest Bud™.
Then he brought home Logan.
You were walking on eggshells around him for a bit, trying to gauge his personality probably. That was fine, Wade encouraged you both to get along even.
Then one day, something changed, as shift in the force if you will.
It began with the small things: a sticky note on both his and Logan's doors, an extra portion on the grump's plate, tucking Logan in when he was passed out on the couch. However, that was just you being you, no biggie, and he was more focused on his relationship with Vanessa at the moment anyways.
Hell, it was kind of funny (and a little sad) watching Logan shvitz and confuzzle because of your treatment.
You even had the guts to hide the man's alcohol.
It continued like that for around two weeks, until suddenly the dynamic shifted again.
You see, you and Logan were starting to get along well.
Really well.
Wade saw it in the quiet conversations you two shared, sitting side by side on the couch, the bits of your laughter and his chuckles mixing after some private punchline Wade wasn't a part of.
He saw it in the way you'd get Logan to step out of his comfort zone, how Logan said you "kept him young", how your eyes lit up when you saw each other.
Wade found himself...hating it.
Of course he knew it was all platonic, it had to be, you were literally aromantic, but it burned to see the both of you so close so soon, doing things without him.
So he got petty.
He'd insert himself into your guys' conversations, dramatically lay himself across both of your laps when you sat together, pestered and flirted with Logan incessantly to point of making him snap, just doing everything in his power to monopolize the attention, negatively and positively.
However the more he annoying he got, the more strain it put on his and Vanessa's relationship, the closer you and Logan got, and...the farther you both drifted away from him.
You'd used to try and spend time with both Wade and Logan equally, but now you talk to him less, your eyes lacked their usual warmth, having been replaced with caution, tired but ready to mediate another fight, while Logan no longer bantered with him, only looking at him with contempt and snapping in actual anger at his quips.
So when Vanessa pulled him aside and told him she was taking another "break" until he figured out what the hell he wanted from you both, he had a meltdown.
An ugly, emotional meltdown.
He stormed into his apartment looking for a fight when he caught you and Logan making out with your fingers interlaced on the couch.
Instantly a rush of confusionlustenvyshockwantforyouboth crashed over him and it felt like his whole world shattered.
Without warning he snatched you off the couch, making you squeak and Logan shout, and took you to his room. Locking his door, he placed you on his bed as you looked up at him confused. He could hear Logan breaking down the door but he didn't care.
Crawling into bed, he held you chest to chest, wrapping you both up in a nest of blankets, and snuggled into the crook of your neck and...began bawling.
You blinked in surprise just as Logan managed to break down the door, ready to drag Wade off of you when you held up a hand to signal you were okay.
Wrapping Wade in a gentle embrace, you shushed him, letting his emotions run their course for solid ten minutes.
When he was reduced to hiccups, you spoke.
"Wade," You whispered, "What's going on?"
Wade's answer was muffled, still snuggling into the crook of your neck.
"For fuck's sake Wade," Logan growled, "Stop acting like a five-year-old brat and answer the damn question!"
Repositioning his chin to rest on your shoulder, Wade spoke.
"I thought you didn't like mouth kisses." He warbled, making you freeze.
"...What?"
"Or holding hands... I thought that was too romantic coded."
Letting his words sink in, you let out a tired laugh, hugging him close.
"Wade Wilson," You sighed, "I've been squashing on you since I met you."
"You've been what now?"
"They mean they're queerplatonically and sexually attracted to you, idiot." Logan grunted, expression soften a tad when Wade looked at him confused, "Yeah, it took me a while to get to figure how I felt about it too, turns out I have more in common with them when it comes to relationships than I thought."
"So you're aromantic too?" Wade asked, balking when Logan nodded.
"AroAllo technically," You spoke up, "But I guess it's my fault too for not being totally explicit with telling you about that part of me."
Wade was quiet for a moment, before looking you in the eyes.
"You...you mean that you weren't just joking around? The whole time? You think I'm sexy?"
"Yes Wade," You laughed, "In the most platonic way possible, I think your sexy...so does Logan."
"Unfortunately." Logan huffed sarcastically.
Wade absorbed the information given to him, before slowly sitting up and gripping the sides of his head.
"OhMYFUCK I"M SUCH A DUMBASS!" Wade yelled, "I should have done some research but no I had to just assume like some premium grade idiot! Not only that but I had to go and be such an immature dickwad to you guys! Why am I like this!?"
"Good grief," Logan huffed, sitting on the end of the bed, "Would it have killed you to just say you were jealous jackass?"
"Sorry Peanut," Wade laughed half-heartedly, "I get catty when I'm jealous...but seriously, I'm sorry for being such a piece of shit you guys, can...can we start again? Can we try whatever 'this' is?"
Locking eyes with Wade, you nodded compassionately.
"Of course, you dope," You smiled, before looking at Logan, "What do you say Bubs?"
Wade snorted at the nickname, earning him a glare to which he quickly apologized.
Logan eyed Wade and for a second the merc was scared he'd say no, when he let out a heavy sigh, pushing Wade down onto his side, spooning him from behind.
"You're lucky, mouth." Logan huffed.
"Holy shit, am I ever." Wade agreed, preening at the people sandwich he found himself in.
"Don't forget, we need to have a talk with Vanessa tomorrow... about us." You whispered.
"I know, I know," Wade hummed, "But that's for tomorrow, but right now it's about kisses and cuddles!"
"...Idiot." Logan muttered before snuggling into the crook of Wade's neck.
You just laughed, soaking up all the warmth and affection of your little cuddle pile.
Yes, you were all blessed.

have you ever read any of the spideypool comics?????
i’m gonna say something so controversial; i don’t care for spideypool. spiderman does not like wade and that’s obvious even though wade likes him and their dynamic is good that way. i like it. crush on the guy who just doesn’t like you. comedy mine, wonderful. but the idea of spidey liking him back takes all the fun out of it. it’s not cool. i don’t care for spideypool
#like okay i agree that in canon peter doesn't like him back#in canon it really reads like peter did one of those soft rejection things#where you don't acknowledge out loud that you're rejecting the other person but you can both tell what happened#but that's what fanfiction is for#if csnon said wade likes him but it's unrequited#the worms in my brain say that's just repression don't worry about it#wade was literally created as a satirical version of spider-man and the thing about deadpool is that he's constantly breaking the fourth#wall#he knows he's in a comic/book/movie/promo ad#he knows he's being played by ryan reynolds he knows keving feige worked on the movie he knows who chris evans is#so we can only assume he also knows what his original intended purpose is#imagine the ANGST POTENTIAL#IMAGINE FALLING FOR THE MAN WHO'S IMAGE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO FUNHOUSE MIRROR#granted i dont actually want them to be together like boyfriend and boyfriend or anything#i project onto wade too much to actually think about him being happy in any romantic relationship of any sort#imo he's meant to be single forever but have thousands and thousands of fwbs and unlabeled sexual-platonic relationships#and peter is ON THAT LIST!!!!! I SAID WHAT I SAID#wow this turned into a whole ass rant. my apologies#this got awaaayyy from me

Okay...going to wade into the Sabezra discussion. May the flying spaghetti monster in sky have mercy on my soul...
I guess you could call me a "causal viewer" because, despite being a life long Star Wars fan, I'd never watched an episode of Rebels before watching Ahsoka. I just never got around to it and I've only watched a handful of eps of The Clone Wars too. But anyway once I started Ahsoka I was like "this show will clearly make more sense if I watch Rebels" so I started. I'm almost done season 3 of Rebels as of writing this post. And really loving Rebels btw. Part of me of like "why didn't I watch this earlier?" but on the other hand I don't have to wait for the next episode and I know the major spoilers already so I'm not going to get the rug yanked out from under me.
So back to Ahsoka and Sabezra...the big questions. Did I see the romance "coding" (not sure I agree "coding" is the right word but whatever, that's semantics) in Ahsoka? Yes. Sabine's actions definitely come across as her being in love with Ezra to me. That said I can also see the platonic angle, especially after having watched some of Rebels, so I'm not going to tell anyone they are wrong for viewing Sabine and Ezra's relationship as platonic. These things are subjective and open to interpretation until anything definitively romantic or definitively not romantic happens on screen. And at this point nothing definitive has happened either way on screen. Nobody has been proven right and nobody has been proven wrong yet. Sabezra is basically schrodinger's cat right now.
Next how did I interpret the "like a sister" line in Ezra's holo. Um...full disclosure the first time I viewed that scene I didn't even register that he'd said she was "like a sister" to him. I'd never even seen Rebels at that point so I didn't know Ezra yet. So as a causal viewer my take away from that scene was Ezra meant a lot to Sabine and Sabine meant a lot to Ezra. And I'd be wiling to bet that that was the takeaway for most causal viewers.
So on rewatch do I think the "like a sister" line means that Ezra truly sees Sabine as a sister? No. On rewatch, paying close attention to the body language, and after having watched some Rebels, I think Ezra is both struggling to find the words to tell Sabine how important she is to him and telling her what he thinks she needs to hear in that moment. The problem is that in English we don't have a word to describe someone isn't technically family but who isn't a lover either but who's also way more than "just" a friend. Sister is the best word Ezra can come up with in that moment but you can tell from his awkward body language and his literal scoff as soon as he says it that its not the right word. And yeah I think Ezra thinks that Sabine sees him as a brother so he tells her what he thinks she wants to hear right before he heads of on what very well could have been a suicide mission.
Do I think Sabezra is going to be made canon on Tuesday's final episode of Ahsoka (of season 1 at least). No, but hold on nobody panic!!! I also don't think that means Sabezra is dead in the water either. And frankly I'm kind of mystified as to why Sabezra shippers seem to think that the next episode is make or break for Sabezra when its clearly not? If there isn't a love declaration or a kiss or both (which is what I'm assuming people would interpret can them being made canon) its not like either Sabine or Ezra are going to marry someone else on Tuesday either. And since much of Ahsoka has been set up, meaning not much is actually going to get resolved in the next ep (Thrawn hasn't even left Perida[?] yet! I fear we are ending on a cliff hanger), we'll be seeing Sabine and Ezra again. There's no rush for them to get together romantically (and I know that's hard to hear for people who've been shipping for years but its true).
And further to the "there's no rush" point I actually have to say I that I think its WAY too soon for anything definitively romantic to happen between Ezra and Sabine yet (and again I get how hard that is for those who've been shipping them for a long time). And I say that as both a "casual viewer" and someone who's also watched a good chunk of Rebels now. For the causal viewer who hasn't watched Rebels, which is probably a big chunk of the audience for Ahsoka, they barely know Sabine, have just met Ezra and have only seen them interacting for ONE episode and don't know any of their history. A kiss or a love declaration would seem out of the blue at this point I think. And as someone who's getting into Rebels I still think its too soon. While I agree that Sabine is very likely in love with Ezra I don't think she's admitted to herself yet (that's why Baylan used the word family when he was getting her to hand over the map thingy imho) no way is she ready to tell HIM. And as for Ezra...dude is clueless that Sabine might might have non platonic feelings for him so no way is he going to risk ruining their friendship by blurting out that he's in love with her. And not only that they've been separated for 10 YEARS ffs. They need to get to know each other again before anything romantic can happen, again imho. I want Sabezra to become canon but I want it done WELL. Sabezra is a friends to lovers ship, they are still firmly in the friends stage right now, it needs to be a sloooooow burn.
And finally do I think Sabezra will become canon? Honestly...I don't know. I'd like it to, it would be really nice to have a non problematic ship, especially after the sequel trilogy robbed us of FinnRey and tried to force freaking r*ylo. But I think Filoni and the other powers that be over at DLF (he is NOT the sole person calling the shots here, keep that in mind everyone) are probably testing the waters right now and waiting to see what the audience reactions are like before they make any decisions. I'd be wiling to bet that by the end of Tuesday's episode the door will be left wide open for pretty much anything to happening shipping wise. So we'll just have to wait and see. Time will tell, it always does.

As much as I love Dramione and that community. I stopped reading Dramione because of Ron’s characterization. Ron bashing is so normalized that it has become a Dramione convention and I’m not in for it. A lot of the faults that they give Ron are a lot of things that I can relate to (mediocre at school, procrastination, feeling like the lesser sibling) these are pretty standard Ron characteristics in Dramione. Usually the relationship with Draco start as a secret so Hermione is always alone in Dramione fanfics, her friendship with Harry and Ron is only a thing from the past that is occasionally mentioned. So a lot of Ron’s strong points are never there, I.e his loyalty, bravery, his defense of his friends, vast knowledge of the wizarding world. It is bothersome to see the way they portray students that do not excel in school, or have strong points that do not include academia.
Then also Astoria, she’s usually death or the crazy wife. Rose granger Weasley is non-existent while Scorpius Malfoy is a pretty common character, and Hugo… who is that ? The community doesn’t even mention him. I’m a bit disturbed by the way all of Hermione’s children in canon are just erased. Draco can be the dad, the widower, or the divorce but Hermione is the one that is single for a while, never married, haven’t had a proper shag, and ready to be the stepmother.
I always feel that they’re projecting their ex-boyfriends onto Ron, and Draco is the rich, intelligent, hot guy that they’d wished they upgraded for. In many stories Ron and Hermione break up because they always fight, but then they have Draco and Hermione quarrel just as much.
I would not be so bothered by it if I didn’t see all of this so much.
thank you very much for the ask, anon!
dramione certainly isn't my circus, but i find the same phenomenon occurring in my fandom spaces, since i'm someone with a preference for pairings which put harry with someone other than ginny - i've waded through so many fics in which ginny ends up getting turned into a complete bitch with no redeeming qualities and her relationship [both romantic and platonic] with harry is handwaved away in order to make her someone he never actually liked, who he only dated for a bit because he was forced to.
part of this is just standard slash subfandom misogyny when it comes to female characters, which we all need to get a grip on. but - as you say - it's also so prevalent in the fandom treatment of ron. and i find it really uninteresting!
i bang on a lot on here about how any ship is possible if an author has enough nerve - and how the reason for this is that love is fundamentally strange and unpredictable, and nobody can ever predict how it will strike.
but this comes with a flip side - that the strangeness of love means that its ability to last isn't always guaranteed. or - any ship can be disentangled interestingly and sincerely and [if that's an author's aim] canon-coherently with a bit of effort.
i think there are lots of really compelling things which could be done with the premise that ron and hermione don't get together or don't stay together - whether dramione ends up as the endgame or not - which don't need to reduce ron to the lazy, whinging boor he so often becomes.
and this includes thinking about divorce and co-parenting and blended-families in circumstances which aren't acrimonious. i think it's really striking that - as you say - there's an unease in fandom spaces with characters [above all female ones] having been married or had children in prior relationships. and there's also an unease about marriages which end for comparatively benign reasons - such as a couple simply not wanting to be in a romantic relationship with each other, but wishing to maintain a platonic one. divorces are always bitter - and the only time relationships break down without one partner becoming the bad guy, it's because someone [usually a woman] is dead.
this obviously isn't something fandom created, but it's still a wider cultural bleed-through into fandom which i find fundamentally boring.
and this is even though i very much understand the appeal of fairytale endings - draco malfoy as every disney prince rolled into one - as tropes. we all love a bit of self-insert fantasy, a bit of rom-com schmaltz, a bit of a knight in shining armour rescuing princess hermione from horrible ron.
but i think there's something valuable - and something no less fun, or moving, or compelling - about love stories which feel a bit less epic. second love, or friends-to-lovers-to-friends-again, or "there's no such thing as soulmates", or "this was fun while it lasted".
i genuinely think ron would be great as a divorced dad - not least because you know the single mams would be flocking to chat to him when it's his turn to bring the cake for playgroup - who remained best friends with hermione after they split.
and i think the dramione-specific comedy-of-errors of him and draco negotiating their new dynamic [mutual seething giving way to begrudging cordiality giving way to tentative respect] would properly bang as a premise.

but what does cable think of peter??? like is there a sort of just sexual attraction? platonic sexual attraction, aromantic (yes i headcanon cable as aromantic dont ask) platonic "buddy pals" kind of occasional sex relationship?
i'd say that it's practically impossible for anyone to not be sexually attracted to peter parker (it's the burden he and everyone else in the world must bear) - so, absolutely, nathan's attracted to peter. he's cute. nathan thinks he's adorable. he's immediately fond. most of all for how much peter is willing to give.
it's kind of funny you headcanon cable as aromantic - i kind of headcanon him as the entire opposite! he's The Ultimate Polyam Beast. he's literally In Romantic Love with The Entire World. he is the World's Whore.
[x]
i know you'll be sick of hearing me say it, but nathan's almost more of a symbolic figure in 9319 than anything - and his whole saviour-like schtick means that he can't just devote his love to one place, like wade wants it. wade is greedy, and selfish and - wants it all. and you know - you can't. you won't. the future just can't give you that guarantee, as much as wade wants it.
so, in my terrible head, nate's symbolic of the future, i guess. distant, uncertain, full of surprises - makes you nervous. and excited.
nate's symbolic of a future that now, wade wilson is learning - he can share with someone. hahah heheheh hohooho. metaphors.
#sci shut up. shut your stupid mouth.#you and your stupid metaphors.#sci speaks#i think all of the love nathan feels is genuine romantic love. for everyone. including peter. it's never just physical. never.#i think that's why it throws wade for a loop so much because he so WANTS it to be just physical.

Six Song Soundtrack Playlist
Tagged by @ferindencadash (thank you!!)
I'm filling this out for Angel, I'll write up a little list of explanations for each and link his playlist below <3
1. An event that defines your character's past
Bad luck never leaves Your jinx just floats around Like the taste inside your mouth Or the sound when your skull cracks Feel the growing pains It means you're growing up too fast While you were sleeping I was blood red Sharp as a knife inside your stomach I'm squeezing tight, don't let the light in No medicine Daydream tendencies had you smiling soft and sweet Keep those blurry memories somewhere safe You may need them You can make a wish But there's no rabbit out the hat Realize it's never coming back Realize it's never coming back
2. How your character sees themselves
Waiting for the train In the dead of night I howl We all have our evils We're told just to keep calm Curled up and feeble Plagued by our brains, the internal sinking pain I wish I was equal, if only that simple I wish I was people (I WISH!) The train it now arrives, I plead just take me home
3. How others view them
Driving faster in my car Falling farther from just what we are Smoke a cigarette and lie some more These conversations kill Falling faster in my car
4. Their closest relationship (platonic or romantic)
Well, prove to me I'm not gonna die alone Unstitch that shit I've sewn To close up the hole that tore through my skin Well, my trust in you is a dog with a broken leg Tendons too torn to beg for you to let me back in You said, "I can't prove to you you're not gonna die alone But trust me to take you home To clean up that blood all over your paws
5. A major fight scene
As it fell on Job's eyes, this water of doubt, he said, "I'm wading in lies, it's wearing me out. But if you want it, all right. I'll buy it." Blood too dirty for mosquitos, I hope that you die soon. Pray to any god you believe in. Those people, they had families. Their families don't have them. You're not any god I believe in. I hope the rain ruins the work you did.
6. End credits song
It's okay, I don't even cry all I think about is a memory and the dream when you kissed my arm as I look away, don't hear what I say That maybe when I die, I'll get to be a car driving in the night lighting up the dark. something in your voice it sparks a little hope I'll wait up for that noise your voice become my home
All of these are from Angel's playlist which is organized as a timeline of his life, from his childhood in foster care, to enlisting in the army at 18, serving in the Gulf War and losing his leg, to the ensuing depression while he recovers and relearns how to walk, to his lengthy bender of sex & drugs when he moves to the city and finds out about gay bars, to him trying desperately to pull some semblance of a life together with what scraps of himself he has left.
As a bit of a guide;
An event that defines your character's past
This ones in reference to Angel's injury while serving in the army, an explosion tearing through his leg and shrapnel ripping up his shoulder and face. He spent a good amount of time bouncing between hospitals, from field hospitals to Germany and back state-side, and had to come to terms with the reality and severity of his injury.
2. How your character sees themselves
I think in many ways its always been this way, but it definitely worsened after being disfigured; Angel has always seen himself as less of a person and more of a monster, which is why he's always felt a sort of kinship with the Monster in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. I think its a potent cocktail of autism, self esteem issues, and the endless, clinging isolation of growing up in the foster system.
3. How others view them
I think from an outside view Angel comes off as really mysterious and cool, he's very serious and quiet and drives a motorcycle. But in reality hes just autistic and terribly uncomfortable and would rather be at home.
4. Their closest relationship (platonic or romantic)
It takes so much patience and soft love to get Angel to unravel his layers and layers of bottled up shame and pain and desperation. He learned from a young age that to survive he needed to keep as much of himself hidden as he could, and he's clung to that sentiment his entire life. He struggles so much expressing when hes suffering and asking for help, will keep things bottled up even when he knows hes sabotaging himself.
5. A major fight scene
This one's the climax point of his experience with war, having whatever faith he clung to shaken hard when he saw sheer cruelty and mindless violence of it all.
6. End credits song
This is the last song on his playlist, to me it symbolizes this feeling of hope for a future that's really new for Angel, he's spent so long trying to just get through each day. Having someone by his side that he can dream of a future with is more than he could have ever asked for.
Also im tagging @nullshocked, make this for Jules pls.
And if you're reading this, you should do one for your oc :-)

A Little Closer (Captain Rex x GN Asexual Aromantic Reader)
Word Count: 2722
Warnings: minors DNI, frank discussions of sex but nothing more, some chaste kissing, reader is sex-repulsed aroace, angst in regards to Order 66 (I'm sorry okay! This was getting long and I didn't know how to also make it an Everyone Lives AU also)
A/N: I wrote these headcanons for clones with ace partners and basically now I want to write at least one fic for each clone with a partner who is somewhere on the aroace spectrum. (I’m taking requests if you have any.) Ultimately the relationship in this one is going to be a queerplatonic partnership with I love yous. There is some reverse comfort. No use of reader's pronouns.
I would be remiss if I didn't say thank you @starrrgazingbunny! Your reblog and comments on those headcanons helped shape the relationship in this story.
You sat near 79’s and wanted to cry. All you could think about were those many nights with the 501st boys, laughing, eating, dancing, and sharing stories. You didn’t jump on the dance floor immediately, but it was hard to be shy when Hardcase, Fives, and Jesse all shuffled you toward the center of the room. They had no shame in their dance moves and brought out more of your fun side. You smiled to yourself as you thought of all the times you talked and took their mind off the war. You remember the night someone had pulled the fire alarm and you were all kicked out. You invited the boys home to hang out for a little while. Rex chuckled watching Tup, Dogma, Kix, Fives, Jesse, and Hardcase all try to sit on your couch followed by Hardcase insisting there was room for everyone as long as you, Rex, and Echo sat on their laps. There was not, in fact, any more room and your poor sofa creaked beneath them. You just grinned and got some extra chairs out and moved the table so everyone could sit somewhere. No one seemed to mind it being a little crowded.
It was the same night that the boys were discussing their futures. Not so much about the war, but Hardcase had met a woman he loved and disappeared to her every day he could when they were on Coruscant. Jesse was in the process of getting to know someone and Dogma had a date lined up. They had never been prepared for social relationships outside of the GAR, nevermind romantic relationships. They quickly turned to you for advice, as a nat-born.
“Sorry to disappoint,” you said. “I’m aroace and will never have sex.” Each man tilted his head and knitted his eyebrows slightly, mulling over this statement. You took the time to explain the spectrum of sexual and romantic attraction and that, yes, you still liked people and platonic relationships. You even thought about having a committed relationship sometimes, but hadn’t found the right person for that. You carefully waded into the topic of lost loves and unspoken wishes when you knew a friend would only remain a friend. You told them you dreamed more about building a home and sharing a life with someone, but that didn’t have to include the things romantic movies seemed to covet.
“Are those things not important regardless of how you feel about sex, or even romance?” The question came from Rex, who up until now, had been practically silent. You looked into his eyes, and felt a spark of hope. It was quickly interrupted by a well-meaning Hardcase.
“Yeah, I love more than sex. I feel a connection when I’m with my girlfriend. She understands me. We spend time doing more than making out and getting naked.”
“Thank you for that information,” Tup said, rolling his eyes.
You smiled, getting his meaning. “I think that strong, long-lasting relationships are built on closeness and understanding. There are some people out there who have no interest in getting close to someone on an emotional level and only want the physical, sure. I think it’s pretty normal to figure out what you want and seek that out.”
“People tend to want to be understood and care for each other,” Rex added quietly. The men all nodded their heads and you couldn’t help but find a smile tugging on the corner of your mouth.
You didn’t tell the boys some things. Like how you were sometimes up front about being sex-repulsed because you knew it would weed out some people. It felt like a shield against future pain. You knew not everyone would understand and you didn’t want to waste your time, but that night you felt like they were doing their best to understand.
You now felt a pang thinking back to that night. All those men figuring themselves out in the way that nat-borns normally had years to do. They grew up too fast to fight a war, but they had the same basic needs and desires as anyone. Now that the Empire was in power, so much had changed. You didn’t know where they all were, but you missed each one of them. You especially missed Rex. That night had been one filled with hope for you. Hope that someone would understand what you wanted in a relationship and not demand you sacrifice your body and wishes for their own needs. Now you were really alone, trying to figure out how to function with so much changed.
Your old job with the GAR had been terminated and you were left to trade parts and barter your skills as a mechanic. It was in the process of trading parts that you met the Martez sisters. One night you found yourself on their platform, agreeing to help fix a ship for a friend of theirs while they were off on a job. You weren’t given a name or anything, just a description that included blonde hair and a more thorough description of the ship. They neglected to tell you that he was a clone. The ship landed and you stepped toward it as the door opened to reveal a familiar face.
“Rex?” You dropped the tool in your hand and tears came to your eyes. He was dressed more like a civilian, but that face was unmistakable.
His breath was nearly knocked out of him as he quickly covered the short space between you and pulled you into his arms.
“It’s so, so good to see you,” he said, breathing a sigh of relief. “I wanted to find you. Find someone. After everything I couldn’t come back to the barracks. I couldn’t…” His voice was barely a whisper and he pulled you in for another hug.
As you worked on his ship, he helped, handing you tools and filling you in on what happened. You thought of Hardcase, Tup, and Fives gone. You mourned for them during the war. Now Jesse. Rex didn’t know what happened to Dogma or Kix, but at least Echo was okay. He sat, staring forward, and tears streamed down his face. You stopped your work and sat next to him, pulling him close while he cried into your shoulder.
As he quieted he apologized. “I’m so sorry. I think of them every day.”
“You don’t have to be sorry, Rex. I miss them. I missed you. I never thought I’d see you again.”
That day changed your life. You did everything you could to help Rex and the network of clones. When more were rescued, you were ready with food and clean clothes. You fixed ships and saved credits. Eventually, you started going on missions that weren’t so much on the dangerous side as the practical side. Helping rescued clones start new lives in a handful of places that were as far away from the Empire as possible, expanding the network. You helped Rex find several places to lay low and a few escape routes through the galaxy. While you had offered to come on all the missions, he insisted he didn’t want you put in the way of more danger, but then one day, Rex and Gregor barely made it back. You and Wolffe were waiting after a supply run and were both practically tearing your hair out.
“What happened?!” You both shouted once the door to the shuttle opened. Gregor explained that there had been some mechanical trouble, lost comms, and they had to jump around that part of the galaxy for a while to find someone to assist.
“It was beyond our expertise,” Rex added.
You rolled your eyes. “If only you knew someone who was a mechanic,” you replied.
“It’s too dangerous,” Rex insisted.
“I chose this, Rex.” You looked between him, Wolffe, and Gregor. “Now I know Gregor and Wolffe have told me that they would appreciate the help, but you keep saying ‘no.’ Why? I’m with you. I want to do this!”
Gregor and Wolffe froze in place and silently looked between each other and Rex. Rex just rolled his eyes and sighed.
“I don’t want you getting hurt,” he admitted.
“Then help me with my blaster aim.”
He couldn’t help but grin at that. Joining the boys consistently changed a lot of things. You became better on your feet in sticky situations and since you weren’t a clone, you blended into certain scenarios much easier. It was an advantage. You also got to know the boys much better. Knowing someone you worked with and becoming friends that way was one thing. Living on a ship with them, sometimes for months at a time, was another. While you had become closer to all three of them, you started to feel something for Rex that couldn’t quite be put into words. It was some form of love, but you didn’t know what to make of it.
One evening Gregor and Wolffe turned in early so they could get some sleep before their watch. You stayed sitting by the campfire with Rex. You felt some discomfort from him, but waited as he formed his thoughts. Your heart dropped at the thought he might have noticed you acting a bit differently around him. Were you acting different? You couldn’t quite tell. You tried to play it cool, but that didn’t always work out. You were brought out of your thoughts when he cleared his throat.
“Hey,” he said quietly. “How do I put this?” You waited until he continued. “Many rotations ago, a few cycles ago now, we were at your place with some of the boys talking about relationships and you said you don’t feel romantic love or want to be, umm, intimate. Is that still true?”
“Wha?” The partially-formed word left your lips before you could stop it. You weren’t expecting him to be so forward. “Yeah. Yeah I still feel that way.”
Rex continued. “But you do feel love. I mean, you show us all love in some form. And I was just wondering if you… if it’s okay that I love you.”
“If it’s okay that you love me? Of course it’s okay,” you answered, much to his relief.
“I just don’t know how to go about some of these things,” he said, “But I feel such love for you. Love unlike any I’ve known. I don’t know what to call it and in many ways I don’t care.”
“I do love you,” you told him. “I am happiest with you, even on the worst days when everything breaks down. I am most content with you. My footing is solid when you’re with me.”
Rex scooted a little closer to you. “How can I show you how I feel? What do we call this?”
You shrugged at the last part. “Let’s figure it out together. Maybe we could start with this.” You held out your hand to take his and he gladly intertwined his fingers with yours. He wanted to kiss you, but asked first. You didn’t want to say no, but simply said, “Give me time.” He nodded and instead rested his forehead on yours. That felt pretty perfect.
It took time to figure out what did and didn’t work for you. You always enjoyed the idea of cuddling and started there. You invited him into your bed, first for afternoon cuddles and then to sleep. You were both asleep almost instantly once you found a comfortable position in each other's arms. You started spending time snuggling against each other and one day while sitting in the cockpit he gently started to pull you onto his lap.
“This okay,” he asked.
You nodded and sat. You rested your forehead to his and put an arm around his shoulders, whispering “I love you.”
When your ship was barely worth anything for scarp, you sold it, and were surprised to find Rex already knew what ship you’d get next. It wasn’t new, but it was still in excellent condition. When you moved your belongings inside you found that there were only three bunks, but he then showed you how a fourth extended out from the wall, giving the two of you more room in bed together.
“I love this,” you said. “Is that the only reason you picked this ship?”
He grinned and scratched the back of his head. “Well, not the only reason. There’s also more storage space.”
You looked into his deep brown eyes. He had put so much thought into it just to make sure you were comfortable and not squished too badly between him and the wall. You realized that this was the nicest bed he’d probably ever slept in and your heart danced thinking about how you’d be the one sharing it with him.
When it came time to turn in, you found Wolffe and Gregor laying in the bed, hands behind their heads, looking up at you.
“What are you two doing?”
“Who says you and Rex get this bed,” Gregor playfully asked.
“Maybe we’d like to stretch out a bit sometimes,” Wolffe added.
“Well, finish your stretching and get going because I need to snuggle with my partner.”
They both looked at you with raised eyebrows. You hadn’t put a name to the relationship before, but your heart sang at the word. Partner. Rex was your partner and that made you very happy. When he came to bed, Rex found you laying under the covers reading a holonovel. The lights were low and he felt calm as he got in next to you.
“Partner, eh,” he asked with a soft smile. You nodded with a shy smile, not realizing he overheard.
“I like that,” he said. “Feels pretty perfect.”
He laid down and opened his arms up for you. You smiled as he pulled you. You buried your face in his neck and gave him a little squeeze.
“I love you, Rex.”
“I love you too.” You both fell asleep feeling at total peace.
Life would not always be easy. Certainly hiding from the Empire was hard enough, but then there was dealing with the psychological aftermath of the war. On the eve of Empire Day, you woke up to Rex shaking in his sleep. His mumbles got louder and you shook him, whispering his name to wake him. When he woke up, his eyes searched yours in a frenzy as tears streamed down his cheeks. He looked lost and utterly devastated. You knew he was dreaming about his chip activation. You don’t know what came over you, but you kissed his forehead and caressed his face, wiping his tears away. You’d never kissed before, but it was the best way you could express that everything was okay now, you were here with him, you loved him, and he didn’t have to be afraid. The emotions overwhelmed him and he sobbed for a little while as you cradled him in your arms.
“It’s okay now,” you said quietly. “You’re here with me and I’m not going anywhere.”
As he calmed down he looked into your eyes. “Can I kiss you too?”
“Yes,” you said. “I’m sorry I took so long to come around to it.”
“No, no, don’t be sorry for knowing what you need,” he replied.
“Maybe not on the lips,” you asked.
“I know. How about your beautiful cheeks?”
You nodded. Rex cupped your face and kissed each cheek. He nuzzled his nose against yours ever so gently. Your body felt a little stiff, taking in the new sensation, but it was wonderful and you soon melted into his arms again.
“I like that,” you admitted.
“So do I.”
The next morning you woke up before Rex and while usually you’d get up and ready for the day, you decided to stay in bed with him. As if he could sense you making this decision, he held you a little closer. You smiled to yourself. When you both eventually got up, you found Wolffe and Gregor around a fire, making a late breakfast. You joined them, you sat right next to Rex, arm against arm as you ate. You leaned your head against his shoulder and he instinctively put his head on yours. It was the best place in the galaxy and you wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Blog Rules
This is primarily intended for mobile view as I understand some people primarily use tumblr through the app or those who don't want to wade through the theme. Enjoy! Drop a like on this post if you've read them, there is no password.
This is an open blog for all. I'm not at all selective on interactions nor do I require you to "match my length" or anything of that nature. Duplicates are also welcome! Seeing Ganondorf talk to himself might be a treat if they don't kill each other.
Personal blogs are also welcome but if you don't roleplay I won't be following back. Trying to keep my dash clean for the most part.
Although this is a multiverse/multiship blog there will be continuity within the main verse. If you see Ganondorf reference your muse or speak about events that occurred between us then just know I reserve the right!
Ganondorf is a villain! He may go through a redemption arc here soon, who knows, but even afterwards he's a brash and ultimately cruel man. His short temper means he may harm your muse. Just bear that in mind. I'll warn you, the mun, before that happens so we're both on the same page of course but sometimes he'll simply react.
Smut is on a case-by-case basis
All relationships are welcome. Romantic, platonic(if you can reach that level with him), enemies( all Link's welcome ;D), so on and so forth. Romance isn't the only flavor but it's the best
Relevant triggers will be tagged, if I miss one let me know. I have no triggers for I am invincible.
This should go without saying but no god-modding. First a warning then a full-on block!
My schedule is hectic and my sleep schedule hates me so sometimes I may go a few days without posting. I promise I haven't forgot about you but if I haven't made contact in a bit don't be afraid to poke me. I don't bite. :) But Ganon may.
I'm here to have fun and play with the idea of a Ganondorf at the end of his journey and starting another one.
